Affordable Family Fun: All Aboard the 2009 San Diego Boat Show!
Area's premiere boating event encourages families to spend a day exploring the boating lifestyle.

SAN DIEGO, CA, December 20, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Only at the 21st annual San Diego Boat Show can families spend a day exploring the boating lifestyle and enjoy family fun for less than a trip to the movies. The four-day event, running January 8-11, 2009, at the San Diego Convention Center and Marriott Marina, hosts hundreds of the newest boats for every budget and lifestyle, plus fun activities for the entire family, including the Port of San Diego's Big Bay Kids' Area, free boat rides, and the new Wakeboard Stunt Show, making its debut at this year's show.

Sponsored by The Port of San Diego, the interactive Big Bay Kids' Area includes boat painting, where kids can roll up their sleeves and paint a boat; a boating safety puppet show; and a chance to meet Skipper, the show's well-known dolphin mascot.

Also featured in the newly expanded Big Bay Kids' Area is the famous Wakeboard Stunt Show. All four days, visitors can enjoy a spectacular show of professional wakeboarders and wakeskaters do their tricks on an impressive indoor set-up featuring a pool, rails, and ramps. Watch the professionals perform jumps, flips, nose-presses and more. And don't miss the "Kicker," a jump that launches riders 20 feet, propelling them to travel up to 40-feet across the pool.

Outside the convention center, there's more to explore. Families can take a stroll on the docks and enjoy FREE sailboat rides on San Diego Bay - sign up at the start of the day, as the free rides fill up quickly.
